Hyderabad Nawabs 2

Story: When six families find themselves without a home after their illegal building is razed down by municipal authorities, they decide to take revenge against the realtors who sold them their flats

Review: Arrey aise howle kaamaan mat karo miyaan, yeh to chhota Qutub Minar dikhra hai....the protagonist tells his realtor friend who shows him a flat to move into in in director RK's latest Deccani venture Hyderabad Nawabs 2. If you're a fan of Hyderabadi Hindi, this film celebrates it in every frame and although the humour gets a bit tedious at times, the film ensures you have a hearty laugh on more than one occasion.

The film revolves around Munna (Ali Reza) who wants to get married to his girlfriend Reshma (Farah Khan) but in order to win her hand in marriage there's one condition — he has to buy a house that will also accommodate his father-in-law. In search of a house, he meets his friend Pappu (Aziz Nasser), a real estate agent. However, none of Pappu's flats are within his budget and the duo run into an real estate agency run by Sajid-Wajid (Gullu Dada and Hussain Bakhali). Sajid-Wajid assures him a flat at a cheap rate and dupes them into buying an illegal property. But the tables would soon turn on them when Mama (RK), a 'retired' yet powerful real estate agent enters the fray.

There's a lot of hilarious moments in Hyderabad Nawabs 2. The Hyderabadi humour is spot on and some of the situations the characters find themselves in, crack you up. Any comparisons with Angrez, however, would be futile and would only leave you disappointed.

The story isn't the film's greatest suit, and it often seems like a montage of jumbled up scenes roll out in front of you. A couple of misplaced (and unnecessary) item songs breaks the narrative and are almost cringe-worthy. But there are moments that shine and the dialogues pack a punch.

Ali Reza makes an entry into Deccani cinema and is impressive. His dialogue delivery and Hyderabadi accent is spot on and he holds his ground amidst seasoned Deccani actors like Aziz Nasser and Gullu Dada. But it is RK as Mama who makes a lasting impact. He shifts between Hyderabadi Hindi and Telangana Telugu with effortless ease and invariably brings the house down when he appears onscreen.

Hyderabad Nawabs 2 doesn't always live up to its billing as a laugh riot but does have moments that shine and make you laugh out loud whenever you think of them.
