A classical performance by vocalist Mala Ramadorai amidst marigold flowers and Lakhnawi shamas

The ambience was perfect ambiance – with marigold flowers and Lakhnawi shamas all around – and the stage was set for a classical performance by vocalist Mala Ramadorai.
Looking elegant in a Kanjivaram sari, she rendered some soulful ragas from Hindustani and Carnatic music. Beginning with raag Abhogi, she enraptured the audience with her renditions like Mori Laaj Rakh Lino, Sudh Bisar Gayi and a Holi folk Rang Daalongi Nandlal.
Chief secretary Jawed Usmani was the chief guest for the evening. Corporate honcho and host for the evening Jayant Krishna felicitated Mala with a memento after the concert.
S Ramadorai advisor to the Indian Prime Minister on skill development, who is also Mala’s husband, was present at the do as well. Also spotted enjoying this musical concert was Vipul Varshney, Samarth and Anju Narain and Ravi Kapoor.
