Samsung Galaxy Star Mirchi Music Awards South to honour outstanding work in music

It was a beautiful evening resonating with music, when the stars of the Southern film and music industries came together to honour the outstanding work in music for 2012 at the Samsung Galaxy Star Mirchi Music Awards South.
The glitzy event hosted by popular anchor Bhavyameera was graced by the presence of stalwarts from the music industry alongside the gen-next of the music world like L R Eashwari, Shankar Ganesh, Vidyasagar, S P Balasubramanyam, A R Rahman, Reku Kumar and Jensy.
The show had some scintillating performances by Shriya Saran, Remya Nambeesan and a skit by Suraj Venjaramoodu. The music and dance extravaganza in all the four south Indian languages featured singers like Madhu Balakrishnan and Haricharan among others. A heart-warming musical tribute was paid to all the greats of the music industry like the late P B Srinivas by popular singer Vijay Prakash along with kids. Usha Uthup presented an ode to the Life time Achievement winners in her own inimitable style.
Clebs like Chitra, Mithra Kurian, Meera Nanda, Sibi Malayil, Ousepachan, V K Prakash, Berny, Ignatius, Jensy and Reku Kumar attended the do.
In the midst of the extravaganza, envelopes were opened and the winners accepted the ‘Golden Beauty’ with a lot of excitement.
MMA (South) is India’s first and only awards for film music given out in all four South Indian languages — Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam — at a common platform.
