It was a fun weekend of theater and music for Hyderabadis who headed to the Samahaara Theater and Rock Music Festival over the weekend.
On Saturday, culture vultures headed to the Taramati Baradari to catch the staging of “Ek Akeli Aurat”, a Hindi adaptation of Dario Fo and Franca Rame’s “Una Donna Sola” featuring a solo performance by Sanjogita Mishra.

The actress held her own throughout the story that explores her deteriorating mental state as she deals with an abusive husband, a secret lover and a lecherous brother-in-law. Shock Therapy and Phoenix performed live after the play.
Day three of the festival opened with a satirical play, “Business is War”, set in the backdrop of the dog-eat-dog world of advertising. It was followed by live gigs by Mehraj and Alteregoz that got the audiences on their feet.
The fourth day saw the staging of the Telugu play, “12 Angry Men” staged by the International School Film and Media, who managed to pull off a flawless performance. They took the audience through the story of 12 jury members, who are locked in a room to come to a conclusion whether or not a boy who allegedly murdered his father is guilty or not. With wisecracks and dramatic fight scenes, the ‘12 angry men’ played their roles perfectly.
