Nivas gets in a spirited performance with Kanil Oru Thuli…, a fast number with shades of sadness in raga and lyric. The singer elevates the song, which kickstarts Nirnayam, with his rendition. With Eytho Mayam…, sung by Karthik and M M Manasi, Selvaganesh comes up with a standout duet. The composer, whose tunes in Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu came in for much praise, proves his tune-making skills in this song that has various layers including a cute interlude and apt background sounds.
1x1 polls
Both singers get their rendition right and that works in the favour of the song.
Mainly based on raga Charukesi, Ariraro… will appeal to the classically-inclined for its tune and structure. Preethi does justice to the slow song. The male version, by Sankar Narayanan, is slower and might appeal only when seen with the situation in the film. Thirudane… starts off with Hindi words and veers into a fast song that’s too usual, considering the similar kind of songs we’re used to hearing these days. Nila Nila… by Kalpana and Lallu Prasad should appeal to the front-benchers for its foot-tapping nature.
Composer Selvaganesh’s melodies are the highlight of the album.
