A routine tune to please the masses,
Kaelu Mahanae… by Jagadeesh starts off musical proceedings in
Sonna Puriyathu. With
Kaaliyana…, by S P Charan and Chinmayi, melody takes over but had more work been put into this number, it could have shaped up better. One latest trend in music is to kickstart some songs, especially fast numbers, with a famous yesteryear dialogue.
Goundamani’s unforgettable ‘I am very happy… start music’ leads into
Dhaevadhaiyay…, a peppy number by Ranjith who delivers it with the spirit it is supposed to be in. M K Balaji gets a slow, pathos number in
Un Thoalil… that’s a short song with a decent tune. The theme is an interesting composition, with good work on the violins. What’s an album these days without a love failure song?
Ayyioyo Poache… by M K Balaji and composer Yathish Mahadev is this album’s
Venam Macham…, though it’s peppered generously with western-style beats instead of traditional kuthu ones. The album ends with
Sagarooo… and
Dance To It..., both instrumental pieces that should work more with visuals.
Sonna Puriyathu is your average run-of-the-mill album.
