After his concert slated for last week in Canada was opposed by the Sikh community there alleging that his songs are violent and objectify women, Honey Singh has decided to take controversy in his stride, since he seems to be making a habit of getting into them pretty often now. Not only did Honey perform in Canada despite all protests, having hibernated for nearly eight months after he first faced allegations of using lewd and provocative lyrics in his songs post the infamous Nirbhaya gang rape, the singer and music producer has decided to stay publically visible.
This time, Honey is not making his presence felt through stage shows only, albeit, he is now making public appearances at Punjabi film premieres in Chandigarh. For the second time now, Honey was seen at the red carpet of a Punjabi film,
Jatt Airways which premiered in a theatre in Chandigarh on Thursday. Besides, the singer was also seen at the special screening of
Chennai Express in Mumbai earlier this month, owing to his contribution to the number
Lungi Dance in the SRK starrer even as it created a stir between him and music producers Vishal-Shekhar.
It seems like a wake-up call for Honey who was isolated by fans, media and activists alike after he was charged with lewd lyrics and, who was advised against a publically shy image which is detrimental to a celeb’s reflection.
