Singer Kavita Seth is all set to sing for the audience at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games.
The Delhi Art and Culture Committee approached her and asked her to prepare something for the opening ceremony. Confirming her presence at the event, Kavita says, “It’s a huge honour to perform at such a big event.” Kavita, who has made a medley of spiritual and Sufi poetry for the Games, wants to showcase the soulfulness and magic of Indian music to the world.

“I have used the shayari of Rumi, Bulle Shah and many others in my medley. There are some new shayars too, who have penned down some amazing lines for it. The musicians who will be playing along with me will use Sufi instruments. Woh chahte hain ki hum kuch ruhani pesh karein, aur masha Allah, hum poori koshish karenge ki kuch aisa pesh karein jo log hamesha yaad rakhein,” says
the singer.
