Year 2011 seems to ushering in a baby boom in the celebritydom. While Anoushka Shankar is expected to deliver her bundle of joy in February, March might well see Konkona Sen Sharma (who is reportedly now in Kolkata) bringing home her little darling. Come April-end, Rituparna Sengupta will be a proud mommy of her second-born.
Anoushka Shankar is in the US now and eagerly waiting for the birth of her first child.

“I’m doing well. Look how big he is! This picture was taken on January 3 (by her husband Joe Wright).” Apparently, it was during the first week of her relationship with film-maker Joe Wright that Anoushka saw herself having children with him. Joe is the most wonderful and extraordinary man, he makes me feel cherished and safe, and it’s easy to see what a loving, imaginative father he will be.” Ask Anoushka if she has decided on the name of the child and she says, “I’m not sure of the name until we meet him!”
Meanwhile, Anoushka is wrapping up work on her forthcoming album. Sometime ago, she was in Spain recording for this album with some Spanish musicians. Her new record explores Flamenco and the connections between it and India. “I am finishing my new album this month. So, I’ll be free after the baby is born,” the sitarist adds.
Here’s hoping her labour of love sees a happy delivery!
