Neha Bhasin's 'Madhaniya' holds special place in Punjabi culture

The ex-Viva singer Neha Bhasin will soon be releasing a single ' a traditional folk song in Punjabi, that has a special place in the heart of Punjabis.
It is Neha's version of an old-fashion wedding song that is customarily sung during the 'bidaai' of the bride, by her family. The singer chose this traditional song because, even today, it holds immense value for Punjabis.
Neha, along with the music director Sameeruddin have given a different, modern take to it using acoustics. The team has used musical instruments like mandolins, guitars, tumbi, violins and chirango to give it the emotional backing that a folk song like this deserves.
Madhaniya means a lot to Neha for she has an emotional connect to it and the singer feels that all cultures will be able to relate to the song.
