Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus 'Padmaavat' swept the recently-concluded 11th edition of Mirchi Music Awards with eight wins, including Album of the Year and Raag-inspired Song of the Year for 'Ek Dil Ek Jaan'. Shivam Pathak was adjudged Male Vocalist of the Year and SLB was Composer of the Year.
Shreya Ghoshal won Female Vocalist of the Year for 'Ghoomar'. Khilji of 'Padmaavat', Ranveer Singh won the Make It Large award, while his 'Dil Dhadakne Do' co-star Anil Kapoor was felicitated with the Bollywood Face of Iconic Hits trophy and Badshah was saluted for his swag.
One of the biggest trends in the film music segment was acknowledged with a new category Best Re-created Song and was awarded to 'Sanu Ik Pal' a lilting melody from Raj Kumar Gupta’s Raid.
Veteran composer Usha Khanna was the Lifetime Achievement awardee and was hailed as one of the first female composers in the traditionally male-dominated industry. Another veteran, Gulzar was voted Lyricist of the Year for 'Raazi’s' 'Aye Watan'. The Special Jury Award for Outstanding Contribution to Hindi Film Music went to Rajendra Singh Sodha while Madhumati was honoured with the Special Jury Award for Golden Era Album of the year (1958).

Abhay Jodhpurkar 'Mere Naam Tu' from 'Zero' and Mahua Chakraborty 'Ab Maan Jao Sawariya' from 'Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain' to composer
Niladri Kumar 'Laila Majnu’s' 'Ahista' and lyricist Prateek Kuhad Karwaan’s 'Kadam'. The Listener’s Choice Song of the Year was 'Dil Chori' from 'Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety' which was also Listener’s Choice Album of the Year.

Kishore Kumar and Mohd Rafi. Badshah,
Neha Kakkar, Arko,
Papon and Meet Bros were also among the performers. Stand-up comedian Sanket Bhosale brought some comic relief to the proceedings.
