This year, festivities everywhere are not the same, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. But though people are having small, low-key celebrations at home, it’s not dampening the spirit and fervour. Palak Muchhal talks about how Navratri will be different this time. Says the singer, “We will all be celebrating Navratri separately unlike before. I want to ask everyone to keep the spirit of the festivity alive.

Navratri is the festival of hope, light, positivity, determination and strength and we can come out of this together being positive, being hopeful and being together.”
She adds how the festivity will get a different hue owing to safety precautions. “We usually celebrate by inviting people home and we also have this ‘garba night’ where we call our family members over, everyone plays dandiya and we all have such fun, but this year it’s different. It's only going to be four of us - mummy, papa, me and Palash. But we’re happy, we’re embracing this change and being hopeful that we will come out of this pandemic soon.”
She also reveals what’s being planned for the days ahead. Says Palak, “On the eight day we also have ashtami ki pooja and on the ninth day we will feed some kanyas. Main Maa Durga se yehi prathana karti hoon ki sabki kasht door kare aur sabke jeevan mein khushaali laye. I wish everyone a happy Navratri.”
