Lillete Dubey directs Girish Karnad’s play

Girish Karnad’s 'Boiled Beans On Toast’, directed by Lillete Dubey, showcases a contemporary view of Bangalore. The original Kannada play ‘Benda Kaalu on Toast’ has been adapted in English and directed by Lillete. The play is a toast to city life.

The first show was held recently in the city and many more are soon to follow. The veterans of Indian theatre — Girish Karnad, Lillete and Neha Dubey, Dolly Thakore — came together under one roof for the first day first show. The play staged at the SoBo theatre – TATA theatre, NCPA, also had actors Shishir Sharma, Deepika Amin, Neha Dubey, Ira Dubey, Joy Sengupta and Kitu Gidwani in attendance. Ira, Lillete’s daughter said, “I am glad that my mother has done the English adaptation of the play.”
