K-pop girl group Say My Name’s Dohee recently became candid about her struggles as a high school student. The idol shared how she often felt ‘invisible’ amongst her friend group, and how adults need to understand how common this is amongst children.
Dohee talks about feeling invisible as a student
Dohee, famously known for her skills, debuted with the group Say My Name, and recently opened up about the kind of struggles she faced when she was a high school student. During an appearance on the variety series titled ‘Oh Eun-young Report’, the idol revealed that she too had faced targeted issues, as the ones that were being discussed on the show. She shared that, “I became completely invisible starting with the first-year high school sports day." The confession left the audience emotional and resonating with the idol.
The show where the idols were starring is focused heavily on showing the struggles of the youth of today. It was created with the idea to give teenagers a space to showcase their struggles, and to help adults empathize with such issues that are still treated as unreal or taboo.
Another story about a student who wishes to be an idol was also shared on the show, to which Say My Name’s May resonated deeply.
She shared, "I auditioned about 60 to 70 times. My heart was very troubled, but I worked hard with the determination to make this happen”. The full episode of the series is special enough to be aired online on different platforms on August 15.
