Aghora

Plot: The film revolves around a couple, Akash and Prakriti, the latter's sister Bhoomi and Agni, who is Bhoomi's boyfriend. The four of them end up in a troublesome situation because of a supernatural encounter. What is the problem they face and how they get out of this situation forms the storyline.

Review: For the past few weeks, there have been many films that have been released, most of which have not drawn favourable responses. These days, when someone chooses to go to a thriller film, they would rather go only if they are guaranteed that edge-of-the-seat experience and Aghora, which is a horror thriller, ensures it does pique one's attention because of its different style of screenplay and narration.

For any horror thriller, the script and the thrilling elements form a more integral part of the film as compared to the characters in order for it to find a favourable response. In Aghora, one gets to witness a lot of these thrills. The film might make a slow-paced start, but it takes that important turn just when it is much needed, before the interval block, making it an interesting watch for the audiences.

The haunted scenes and the thrills that these create are the major highlights of the film. The actors have done a good job to ensure they create the necessary impact. Cinema is all about ensuring you do justice to the genre and this film has achieved what it has set out to do in the horror space and the director Pramod Raj deserves credit for this.

Newcomer Puneet Gowda impresses with his acting skills. The heroines, Dravya and Rachana, perform well, especially in the scary scenes. Ashok Raj, who has been seen in comedy roles, will surprise viewers with his performance in this film. Actor Avinash adds the much-required finesse with his experience. The background score and cinematography of the film also are big draws. That said, there are a few flaws in the cinema that cannot be missed. But, for lovers of the horror genre, Aghora definitely makes for a good watch.
