Story: Director N Om Prakash Rao has lived up to his reputation of making movies with excellent screenplay and narration. In his latest venture, the director has chosen a story of ill-treatment and harassment of the poor and how a youth takes on atrocities. It’s one of the best gifts for Vijay fans.

Movie Review: Director N Om Prakash Rao gets full marks for excellent narration of a story that takes place in a village on the banks of Bheema river. With a brilliant script, the director keeps the narration lively throughout the first half, but slightly loses grip in the second. But he has excellently captured lifestyle and tradition of people of that area.

The story focuses on how a youth Chandappa (Vijay) wages war against rich and dominant families of the area who harass people for their gain. Shashikant Nagarkar, a rich politician, makes use of Chandappa to become a minister and fails to fulfil Chandappa’s ambition of helping the poor. Chandappa becomes so popular in that area that Shashikant decides to kill him. The other reason is that Shashikant’s sister Bheemavva (Praneetha) falls in love with Chandappa and marries him. Rest is action-packed when rich people plan to eliminate Chandappa. In the process, Chandappa loses his mother (Umashri) and close friends.

Vijay deserves a pat on his back for his marvellous performance. Praneetha is impressive. Umashri is amazing. Suchendra Prasad and Sharath Lohithashwa have given life to their roles. Music by Abhiman Roy and camera by Anaji Nagaraj are special attractions. MS Ramesh has some catchy dialogues for you.
