Chef Chidambara

Chef Chidambara (Aniruddha Jatkar) is neck-deep in debt. His girlfriend Anu (Rachel David) is hopeful that they will be able to get out of the dire situation. He dreams of saving his ancestral property, and lead a peaceful life with Anu. To wiggle out of the financial crisis, he decides to help Mona (Nidhi Subbaiah), wife of loan shark. Mona is being blackmailed by her ex, and she is trying to retrieve her photos from him. She seeks out to Chidambara and he decides to help. On the other hand, Don (Shivamani) is looking for a man who has run away with an important mobile phone. And then there’s a murder! What’s Chidambara got to do with it? You have to witness this fun twist on thebig screen.
Chef Chidambara falls under dark comedy thriller, a category rarely explored in Kannada. Aniruddha, who is back from small screen, has brought in a few antics from there. Nidhi is a treat as a gold-digger seductress. Rachel’s dubbing attempt is commendable. With a bunch of tasty ingredients, director M Anand Raj has cooked a tasty biriyani, albeit a few Elaichis, like adding a few unnecessary bits especially when the plot is thickening. The side-kicks don’t add up either.
For the audience that is not so used this genre, one can expect a couple of surprises from Chef Chidambara.
