Demo Piece

Harsha is a happy-go-lucky college student, who aspires to lead the good life. He does odd jobs and tries shortcuts to make quick money. But he seems ill-fated as nothing works out. Does his luck change? Can he fulfill his dreams?

Vivek A's film has a good premise. He has chosen a good lead actor too, as TV actor Bharath Bopanna is quite a natural on the big screen. The film falters because the main conflict in the storyline is not convincing. However, the second half has scenes that makes up for the initial lag in the narrative, to an extent.

What works for the film are its action sequences and music. What does not work here are some of the comedy scenes. The scenes involving the hero's friend, who belongs to the LGBTQIA + community, are rather distasteful. The film has its share of bloopers and logical errors that ardent film buffs would enjoy spotting. An example: The hero, a BCom student, is seen cramming for his exams, but, from a physics textbook.

While Bharath is impressive, Sonal Monteiro does not have much to do in the story. Sparsha Rekha, as the hero's mother, is endearing. Demo Piece can be a one-time watch if you like college capers or dramas that run high on family sentiment and have a message too.
