Suri Anna revisits the well-trodden terrain of Bengaluru’s underworld, opening with media interviews of retired rowdies reacting to the rise of a new name in the crime circuit — Suri. Their differing opinions gradually transition the narrative into a flashback, where we meet Suri not as a feared name, but as a man leading a grounded life with his wife Shri (Sambrama Sree) and their eight-year-old daughter Gauri (Baby Marisha). He works at a fruit market, earning his livelihood.



The stability of his routine is disturbed when a gang led by Japan (Cockroach Sudhir) creates chaos in the market. The area falls under the control of Yashaswini, a lady don who steps in to contain the situation. Suri initially avoids direct involvement, relying on the support of his mentor Bhai (Harish Rai) whenever tensions rise.



The situation takes a personal turn when Japan misbehaves with Suri’s wife. Yashaswini publicly reprimands Japan, intensifying his resentment and pushing the conflict beyond market disputes. From here, the narrative shifts into a series of retaliations, power struggles, and gang rivalries. As threats close in, Suri’s family life is shaken, and circumstances draw him deeper into the very world he once had no connection with.



The second half focuses on escalating violence and internal betrayals, portraying how the underworld functions through constant replacement — one figure eliminated, another stepping forward. While the film attempts to show the mechanics of this cycle, the progression follows a predictable pattern.



The screenplay includes romantic tracks, internal political manoeuvring, and police angles, but a few subplots feel stretched and interrupt the central narrative. Certain comedic portions appear misplaced within the otherwise serious tone. The pacing fluctuates, particularly in the middle segments, affecting narrative consistency.



With actors like Harish Rai, Cockroach Sudhir, Prakash Thuminad, Ravi Kale and former police officer S. K. Umesh in key roles, the film presents familiar faces within a standard underworld framework. Technically, the making remains average, and the music does not significantly enhance the experience.



Borrowing its title from the popular “Suri Anna” character in Salaga, the film sees the lead actor stepping in as director and producer as well. Overall, Suri Anna turns out to be yet another recycled underworld drama, repeating the familiar rise-and-revenge structure, routine gang rivalries, and predictable narrative beats, with no real effort to move beyond a template that has overused in this genre.
