There are over a 100 names with the KFCC, of which 40 have to be shortlisted for the award. To ensure that they haven’t missed out on anyone, the film chamber officials sent out letters to all associations — like the directors association and artists association — asking them to nominate those people who they feel have contributed to the Kannada film industry.
Others that have reportedly made it to the list are Sarojadevi, Leelavathi, Dwarkish, Girish Karnad, M S Umesh, Vishnuvardhan, and directors Bhargava and Vijaya Reddy, among others.
