Anu Prabhakar is proud of female foeticide

Two-time Karnataka State Award winner Anu Prabhakar -- who has been in the Kannada film industry for 13 years and has done more than 60 film in this time -- is proud about being part of Garbada Gudi, a movie that focuses on female foeticide.

Two-time Karnataka State Award winner Anu Prabhakar -- who has been in the Kannada film industry for 13 years and has done more than 60 film in this time -- is proud about being part of Garbada Gudi, a movie that focuses on female foeticide.
Veteran director Om Saiprakash, with whom Anu has acted in Tavarige Baa Thangi and Samsaradalli Golmal, narrated the script to the actress. The role also brought to mind what she had studied as part of her MA Sociology programme.

The actress is also said to have been satisfied with the project, but has also acknowledged that an evil like female foeticide cannot be eradicated overnight. The characters in the film, adds Anu, have been taken from real life and incidents.
In her address, Anu also emotionally recalled veteran journalists AS Murthy and RG Vijayasarathy, who passed away recently.
