Bangalore has produced not only models and beauty pageant winners, but has also given the world a lot of well-known singers and musicians. But of late, the city seems to be producing a lot of promising dancers who have gone on to make a mark on Indian television and in Bollywood. We take a look at some of the dancers-turned-choreographers who have made the city proud on a national level:AKHILESH UNNITHAN
This Bangalore boy was a reality show participant, but Akhilesh's antics were not limited to the show.
He went on to feature in a recently released film on dance, Mad about Dance, directed by Sahil Prem. Akhilesh not only acted in the film, but he also assisted Sahil in the direction department. Akhilesh is currently working on another film.
SALMAN YUSUFF KHAN
He won hearts by displaying his dance skills a few years ago in a reality show on national television. Since then, Salman has been the favou rite of choreographer Remo D'Souza. He is also looked up to by many of his contemporaries because of his precision in dance and because of his versatility in different dance forms. Salman has also acted in a few films and is a regular face in the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
SNEHA KAPOOR She was first noticed when she took part in a dance reality show and showcased her salsa moves.Having broken a Guinness World Record for the Most number of Swing Dance Flips in a Minute, Sneha went on to become an established choreographer in Mumbai. She later choreographed a Kannada film, Jugaari, and even the Kareena Kapoor K h a n s t a r r e r, Heroine.
DEEPAK SINGH The ever-smiling Deepak Singh is a popular choreographer and is always recommended by the actors he works with. This Bangalore boy made his way to Mumbai a few years ago, though his family continues to stay here. He has been part of international shows and has even choreographed actors like Malaika Arora Khan. One of the most versatile choreographers today, Deepak has even choreographed for films and runs his own dance school in Mumbai.
RUPAL TYAGI
After having learned dance at Shiamak Davar's dance institute in Bangalore, Rupal went on to assist wellknown choreographer Pony Verma. She was also one of the assistant choreographers for the song Mere Dholna from Bhool Bulaiyya featuring Vidya Balan. After that, the acting bug bit her and Rupal went on to act in different television serials.
