Kannada actor
Chetan Kumar, also known as Chetan Ahimsa, on Friday announced his new movie collaboration. The actor took to social media to write about the film, Maarga (The Path), which he described as an action thriller. Chetan wrote, “Excited to announce the launch of my new movie: 'Maarga' ('The Path'), an action-thriller film.”
Story, screenplay and direction is by Mohan, while B Ajaneesh Lokanath fills in as music director.
Chetan, who was last onscreen in 2017’s Athiratha, an action thriller and remake of the Tamil film Kanithan, directed by Mahesh Babu, in which he co-starred
Latha Hegde, has been busy as a social activist, public intellectual and political activist, standing up for the cause of the less privileged in society. He is also founding member of FIRE, an association for Film Industry and Rights and Equality that works to tackle sexual harassment in the workplace, improve livelihoods of film workers and technicians, and establish a writers' guild with certification and structured payments for writers.
The actor, who is also committed to two Kannada-Telugu projects – Ranam and Byatraya – got married earlier this year in what was a truly socially-conscious affair, and had, only days ago posted about the blissful six month since tying the knot with Megha.
According to reports, Ranam, directed by Telugu maker V Samudra, will see the actor as a Che Guevara style revolutionary.
Although born and brought up in the USA, Chetan has been a champion of the cause of Kannada, even demanding reservation in government and private sector jobs for those who are from Karnataka.
