Chikkanna turns lyricist and singer

Comedian Chikkanna was in for a surprise when he walked into the recording studio for his work on Sharp Shooter recently. It had taken the film’s director Ghouse Peer some time to convince both Diganth and Chikkanna to turn playback singers. But there was more in store. “I had asked Chikkanna to come in to the studio at 6 pm and Diganth only at 9 pm. When Chikkanna got there, I told him he had about an hour to also write the lyrics of this song and complete it by the time Diganth got there.He was shocked. I did that knowing that Chikkanna is a pretty creative guy and would surely put together something interesting. He took the lyrics of the other four songs that I had written for the film and put them together in a way that it became his song, which is now called Kannalle. Both Diganth and he had a blast singing it later,” says Ghouse.
