Films often tend to blend elements of romance, action, comedy, horror and, of course, drama. But Chaddi Dosth promises to make one single element its theme — comedy. Two of Sandalwood’s best comedians might be good enough reason to watch this film, but there’s more to it than just laughter. Here’s what director Shekar PC has in store for audiences in his Chaddi Dosth: Comic trip: Imagine what Sadhu Kokila and Rangayana Raghu could do as heroes of a film.
Chaddi Dosth, which features the two comedians in lead roles, is likely to be a laugh riot for the entire duration of its two hours and 10 minutes run time.
Natural settings: While most films boast elaborate sets, Chaddi Dosth has been filmed in natural settings throughout, as the story has a lower-middle class setting. There are no artificial sets and the film has been shot in places that people connect to. Zero action: There is not a single action sequence in the film as director
Shekar intended to keep it simple. The film has no villain, fight sequence or violence of any sort.
Shankar Mahadevan’s track: One of the film’s tracks, Avalu Nakku Bitare, rendered by singer
Shankar Mahadevan is noteworthy for its composition and lyrics. “And he has sung it beautifully,” says Shekar adding, “The song comes at a time when Sadhu’s love fails and Raghu’s clicks. If one line of the song portrays a happy emotion, the next is a sad one, and Shankar has balanced both these emotions and conveyed them in the same song. Composer
Arjun Janya has worked wonders with this song.”
Middle-age romance: Since the film stars two middle-aged actors, their love stories are bound to be interesting. “Sadhu’s character is that of a soft person and Roopa Shree (his love interest) plays a ruthless lady don. This love story is funny to watch because Sadhu, though afraid of the woman he loves, musters up courage and tries to woo her,” says the director.
