Dheeren's Ramkumar's debut 'Shiva 143' is now available for streaming on OTT

Dheeren Ramkumar, the grandson of legendary Dr. Rajkumar and son of actor Ramkumar, made his debut recently in the much-publicized film 'Shiva 143'. Released in theatres on August 26, the Anil Kumar directorial was the Kannada remake of the hit Telugu film 'RX 100'. Dheeren was paired with Manvitha Kamath in the film. Much before the movie's release, the intimate chemistry between the lead actors in the film and the song 'Male Haniye' were huge attractions and talking points adding as publicity for the film, but still, the film fizzled at the box office and is now available to stream on an OTT platform, less than a month after its release.

These days most films are still dropping within a month of their theatrical releases, except, biggies like 'KGF: Chapter 2'. Films which are not commercial successes are available to stream faster on the platform.

Before the release, Dheeren believed that 'RX 100' was popular only in the Telugu belt, and didn’t have a great run in Karnataka. The Telugu version was very popular on OTT. If 'RX 100' had been dubbed into Kannada and released here, Dheeren would not have done 'Shiva 143'.

Dheeren will collaborate with 'Badava Rascal' director Shankar Guru for the filmmaker’s second film. Shankar Guru reportedly is now focusing on delivering a superb commercial hit and the upcoming film is likely to feature prominently will be on the lines of drama and romance. Shankar also added that he was impressed by Dheeren Ramkumar's desire to be part of credible work and that he is treating this project as his debut.
