Exclusive: Ramesh Aravind's 100th film
Actor-filmmaker Ramesh Aravind is all set to cross a major milestone in his career. The simple and unassuming star only recently discovered that Pushpaka Vimana will be his 100th film in the Kannada film industry. 'I discovered this from a friend, who pointed it out to me. I then asked my film team to check whether the fact is right. They confirmed that it will indeed be my 100th in the Kannada film industry.

I've done films in other languages like Tamil and Telugu, which will increase the total to around 150,' says Ramesh, when quizzed about the milestone.
He is also glad that this milestone is being achieved with this particular film. 'Pushpaka Vimana has a subject that I am extremely thrilled about. There's something special about the team and their passion and energy. The first photoshoots and teaser have piqued the interest of audiences and I'm confident that this will rise to the expectations of viewers. It is the perfect 100th film for me,' adds Ramesh.
The enthusiastic actor-filmmaker says that it is a very interesting observation that his milestone film happens to be with a team of youngsters and newcomers. 'It has been an interesting journey for me in the nearly three decades in the industry. I happened to do films by chance, but today, I am glad that I am doing what I enjoy doing most. Even now, when I wake up to direct or act, I have the same enthusiasm that I have had always, which is the most rewarding part of the journey. This is also because I have collaborated with some wonderful people in all the films that I have done so far,' he says.
Ramesh, meanwhile, also says that his voluntary choice of directing films for actors apart from himself is letting him broaden his horizons as a filmmaker. 'When I used to make films, I had to stay within the limits of subjects that suit me and my personality. The Tamil film Uttama Villain was the first film that I directed for another actor. Now, with Gandu Endare Gandu, I am directing a Kannada film for another actor. I can explore all kinds of subjects and not limit my creativity and can even plan for a film with a hero like a Superman,' Ramesh points out.
Quiz Ramesh about what his celebrations for the 100th film would be like and he laughs, 'I really don't know what celebrations will be there. I have always been the 'What next?' kind of guy, who is happy to stay busy always. I guess, I would like to leave this milestone the same way, being busy, giving my everything and ensuring that I deliver what people expect out of me.'
