What is Kodi Ramakrishna���������s film about...
Much like a typical Kodi Ramakrishna film, his first Kannada film is also about rebirth, the past and the present and even has a dose of revenge. I play a mystical creature, which has been a completely enjoyable experience. My character takes care of an entire village, is involved in stick fighting, and is someone who is very strong-willed.
We hear it will be your first double role...
Yes, I sport two completely different looks. One is a modern character, living in 2012, who loves music and befriends Diganth, a rock star. The other is set in an era in which there is mysticism.
There has been talk about you starting your production house. How has that progressed?
Earlier this year, director Vijayprasad (of Sidlingu fame) and I had spoken about a film that we'd launch under my banner. We are yet to find the right script for that.
Is it tough to balance work in more than one film industry?
Balancing my work in two industries has been something that I���������ve learned to do over time. I���������m shooting for Dil Ka Raja with Prajwal Devaraj. Mid-January, I begin work on Neer Dose. A month later, I start work on my film with Shivarajkumar. Work on my next Tamil film will begin in April.
Do you always plan so far ahead?
I want things to go according to schedule. I like being in control of my life. Actually, the only time I feel I���������m not in control of my life is when I���������m flying, which is why I am petrified of boarding planes.
Have you also thought about marriage?
I don���������t think I���������m the kind to get married. I���������ve not given it a thought.
But, you���������ve been very open about your latest relationship...
This is exactly the reason why I choose not to comment, people are always scrutinizing us.
How have you planned your political career?
I've had my first taste of elections and success when I contested the Booth level polls. I've been working and helping in my capacity. However, I'm still learning. I strongly believe that there should be a change in the state and I will stand by my political party.
In your decade in Sandalwood, there have been controversies and challenges aplenty. What have been the lessons through this journey?
I got into the industry at a very impressionable age, and my journey has been memorable. The biggest challenge was in being true to myself and standing up for what was right. As far as controversies go, I've learnt to turn a blind eye.
