I never said I wouldn’t act anymore: Ravichandaran
Earlier this year at his birthday celebrations, Crazy Star Ravichandaran had reportedly announced that he wouldn’t pursue acting henceforth as he’d like to concentrate on his children’s careers. So when news of him having confirmed being part of Sudeep’s upcoming directorial surfaced recently, it came as a pleasant surprise. “I never announced that I wouldn’t act anymore.

I only said that I’d like to concentrate a little more on my children’s careers and will not play the hero in their films. Cinema is the only thing I know; what can I do besides that?” he asks.
Meanwhile, his own two films – Manjina Hani and Crazzy Star – are yet to be released. Manjina Hani, especially, has been in the making for over seven years, with fans getting impatient over its release. “It’s not financial troubles that are delaying the project as is being speculated. I have a vision for Manjina Hani and unless that is achieved I will not release it. It has 15 minutes of graphic work left and each minute of graphic work requires 45 days. Crazzy Star also requires graphic work, and these things can’t be done in a hurry,” he asserts.
Currently, his energy is directed towards his son R Aryan’s launch, Andhu. But why did Ravichandaran, who’s known for his larger-than-life ways, opt for a low-profile introduction for his son? “I’ve just started with some intricate homework in the form of Andhu. I’ve changed myself for today’s generation and won’t repeat my previous style of filmmaking. Aryan won’t replicate what the Crazy Star did; he will have a distinct style of his own,” he says.
