I want to break my commercial heroine image: Rachita Ram

Rachita Ram, who is one of the more popular choices for commercial films, is all set to expand her horizon. The actress, who has bagged P Vasu’s next film and also has the female-oriented April in her kitty, wants to take on roles that challenge her as a performer. In fact, it was the different poster of April that prompted Vasu and Dwarakish Chitra to think of her for their next.“The role in P Vasu sir’s film is amazing. It is one of the most challenging roles that I have been offered. The fact that I get to work with Shivarajkumar sir, who is my favourite actor, along with P Vasu sir and Dwarakish Chitra, makes it something that I am thrilled about. It is not the regular glamorous Rachita that people have seen, and I am both excited and nervous about it. It is a very strong and dynamic role, and I am even taking workshops to get it right,” she says.
Rachita also has April, directed by newbie Satya Rayala, which is equally challenging. “We are to begin filming soon. This role is on similar lines to P Vasu sir’s film, since it has me in a very dynamic space. I want people to see me for more than just glamour and break the commercial heroine image,” she signs off.
