Is KFCC bending rules to keep Sandalwood bigwigs happy?

When it comes to bigwigs, KFCC seems to be more happy to bend the rules regarding titles
Is KFCC bending rules to keep Sandalwood bigwigs happy?
The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has tied itself up in knots over film titles. But big guys need not worry. In three instances recently, the Chamber lived up to its reputation of serving the interests of big names. Violating its own rules, the KFCC gave away film titles that were close to or resembled film titles it had already registered for someone else.
1x1 polls
In the first instance, producer Mukthar has dragged KFCC to court for giving the title Adyaksha to Sharan's film while he had already registered the title Adyaksharu. The makers of Adyaksha are claiming that their film is actually titled Sharan Adyaksha, an anomaly the KFCC has allowed big film makers to employ ever so often. For all practical purposes, the film is being marketed as Adyaksha while ‘Sharan' is prefixed almost invisibly. Even if prominent, it will not matter as actor Sharan plays the leading man. In similar fashion, director Prem had snatched away the title ‘Adda’ by making it Prem Adda.
In another instance, producer Surya is left in the lurch after the KFCC gave away the title Power to Puneeth's new film. AR Raveendra is directing a film called Power and the title was given to him a long time ago.
But when Telugu producers who have remade the Telugu film Dookudu in Kannada decided they wanted the title Power, no one could stop them.
According to insiders, KFCC facilitated a meeting between the makers of the two films. The makers of Puneeth’s film reportedly agreed to compensate Surya and his team as they had spent considerable money promoting their film already. It was decided to pay Rs 5 lakh for the transfer of the title. But before this deal could go through, a Kannada producer, who is said to be scouting for the dates of Puneeth, reportedly intervened and told the makers to suffix three asterisks (***). In posters, the *** are hardly visible and for all practical purposes the name of the film is Power. Needless to say, the promised money was not paid. In the third instance, Ravichandran has been holding on to the title Ramachari.
He always wanted to make a sequel to his hit film. But the KFCC gave away the title
Mr and Mrs Ramachari to producers Jayanna and Bhogendra. This is not the first time Ravichandran has been at the receiving end of Film Chamber politics. He lost two other favourite titles of his to such scheming. He was holding the titles Kannadiga and Basava for years. But one by one, KFCC gave away the titles Veera Kannadiga and Namma Basava. In both instances, the prefixes were hardly visible in the film's publicity materials. While the KFCC continues to bend its rules for the biggies, it is unceremonious in dismissing the claims of new filmmakers.
Milind Dharmasena, who applied for the title Uppi's Love Story was asked to bring a no-objection certificate from Upendra.
“They do not even give that in writing so that I can go to court,” says Dharmasena.
But the same KFCC gave the title Kannadada Kiran Bedi knowing well that even in Karnataka only one Kiran Bedi is known.
