It’s Kalasa calling for director Kiranraj K

777 Charlie fame director Kiranraj K is on to his next, and as shared with BT in an earlier interview, the film is a horror comedy woven with adventure. Kiran has been working on it for the past eight months and is now fine-tuning it before locking in the final script. "And I will want to get away from the city to be by myself and ponder over the subject. Hence, I have come to the hill town of Kalasa to visit a remote coffee estate. Since I’m cut off from the network and only get signals in patches, it gives me the complete freedom to not get calls and be wired to the Net. My subject has an emotional chord as well, and the Malnad rains and setting are giving me ample doses of seclusion, rejuvenation, and creative highs, and that’s getting reflected in my work. I can see the effect the hills have on me, and I would like to return only when I’m done," shares Kiran. The film is bilingual and will also be made in Malayalam besides Kannada, and that is a huge responsibility, says the director. Meanwhile, Kiran still continues to get appreciation for 777 Charlie a year into its release and is happy that Charlie, the Labrador and Rakshit Shetty’s co-star in the film, has also won an award recently.
