K.G.F Chapter 2 poised for a Makara Sankranti release?

As shooting for the much-awaited Yash-starrer ‘K.G.F Chapter 2’ nears completion, speculation is rife that the makers are planning to release the movie on January 14, 2021 on the occasion of Makara Sankranti. The Prashanth Neel-directorial also features Srinidhi Shetty in a lead role.
As cinema halls are allowed to open from October 15, many Kannada films like ‘Dia’, ‘Shivaji Surathkal’, ‘Shivarjuna’ and ‘Love Mocktail’ – are set to have a rerun.This will also serve as indication to whether or not audiences would prefer to watch movies in cinema halls amid pandemic.
The makers of K.G.F Chapter 2’ had earlier planned to release the film during Dasara, but it was pushed because of continued lockdown. They seem to be keen now to release the movie on January 14, hoping that the Coronavirus situation will ease.
Meanwhile, the shooting for the movie is currently happening on the beaches of Mangaluru. Srinidhi has joined the team in the coastal city. According to sources, a few sequences will also be shot in Mysuru.
‘K.G.F Chapter 2’, which is sequel to ‘K.G.F: Chapter 1’, will see actor-politician Prakash Raj in a prominent role. Other leading stars in the film are Sanjay Dutt (as Adheera) and Raveena Tandon (as Ramika Sen). Music for the film is composed by Ravi Basrur, Bhuvan Gowda is its cinematographer.
