Ever since cinema halls reopened, everyone has been waiting with bated breath to see which would be the first new Kannada film that would hit the screens. Given the pandemic, it is quite a challenge to make that decision. Everyone expected that a big star film would have ended up being the first one to take that risk. Though, interestingly, it isn't a big star film but a National Award winning filmmaker who has ended up being the first to take a chance with that release this month.
Kannada film fans will get to see Harivu and Nathicharami filmmaker Manso Re's ACT-1978 in cinema halls in less than a fortnight.
The film has
Yagna Shetty in the lead and has a big ensemble cast that includes many known actors from cinema and theatre space.
Shivarajkumar released the first song from the film, while Puneeth Rajkumar released the film's teaser. And now many of the film directors from Karnataka, especially those from Filmmakers United Club are all rallying behind team and supporting the release.
While Yogaraj Bhat put a handwritten note up wishing the team luck, filmmakers like
Pawan Kumar, KM Chaitanya, Shashank, B Suresha, Arvind Sastry and many others have all shared the posters and trailer on their social media pages urging everyone to go and watch the film also said that they would watch the film in the cinema halls too. Apart from the filmmakers, Sanchari Vijay and
Sruthi Hariharan, who have worked with Manso Re earlier, have also been vocal with their support to the team.
