Karthik's voice test result is crucial: Cops
Karthik Gowda, son of Union Minister for Railways, DV Sadananda Gowda, was questioned at length for the second consecutive day on Saturday in connection with the rape case booked against him by smalltime actress, Mythriya Gowda.
“He has tried to shield himself by giving evasive replies on a few issues,“ a senior police officer said. “He has contradicted Mythriya's statement and has denied raping her.

He has also dismissed Mythriya's allegation that he married her. His statement is full of contradictions.“ Karthik arrived at the office of HM Omkaraiah, the investigating officer (IO) at around 10 am as per a direction issued to him when the first day's interrogation came to an end on Friday night. “It may go on till late in the evening,“ police said of Saturday's questioning. “He will be called for questioning a few more times.
Police officers supervising the investigation feel Karthik's case is a fit one for filing a chargesheet, but also suggested a lot hinges on the authenticity of the recordings of their telephonic conversations. “There is enough evidence that Karthik and Mythriya have spoken to each other several times,“ a senior police officer said. “They have met in Bangalore and Mangalore. Mythriya has provided recorded telephonic conversations between them in which they have discussed marriage, children, love and sex. If the voice test conducted on Karthik proves positive, he will be chargesheeted.“
Alok Kumar, additional commissioner of police (law and order) said police were trying their best to discover the real facts. “He has been making contradictory statements since the morning, and refuting all of Mythriya's claims and allegations,“ a senior officer who is part of the investigation said.
“It is a difficult case to handle, but a conclusion should be reached soon.“
