Suri's Kendasampige is being Re-released in a big way this Friday. The film released two weeks ago and is already a critical and and commercial success. But the film was released along with five other Kannada films on the same day and
Suri feels it has not reached its full potential.
The film is currently in around 30 single screens. Its re-release is in 60 screens.The film has mostly newcomers and
Shiva Rajkumar has agreed to be part of the relaunch efforts.
He will watch the film along with fans on Friday and promote the film.
Earlier this week Ram Gopal Varma and was all praise for the film. Suri said, “When I made my first film Duniya, I wanted to send a DVD to RGV. But basking in the success of that film, I forgot about it. I had mentioned this somewhere. When RGV was shooting for Killing Veerappan people on the sets remembered this and also told him about Kendasampige.We spoke on phone and I visited him on the set. He showed me the first scene of Killing Veerappan. He watched a Kendasampige the next mornn ing. We had lunch after that and he identified Manvitha d in the crowd and appreciated her performance. He said I g had good grip over story tells ing. I have promised to send o DVDs of my other films to . him,“ said Suri.Suri has also produced e the film with a new banner.f He made films under the d Suri Talkies banner earlier and now it is the Parimala Film Factory. “It is always better to make films under the banner which has my mother's name,“ he says.The next two parts of he Kendasampige series are being produced under the Parimala Film Factory banner. But Suri Talkies will continue to be in existence.
Meanwhile the overseas release of the film in several countries is being finalised.The film will have releases in Australia and New Zealand before moving to other countries. “We are still finalising the modalities. Most issues of a foreign release are not in our hands and we have to depend on the few people who are in this business. This year we are witnessing so many new things in Sandalwood including the opening up of the overseas market. Hope it gets bigger,“ he said.
