Krishi Thapanda is wrapping the year up on an exciting note because she gets to foray into a new territory with her upcoming assignment. The actor, who will appear in a special song in veteran director Rajendra Singh Babu’s Veera Kambala, is currently in Moodbidri filming for the same.
“I play a girl from the local fishing community in the Karavali region and when I received a call for the project, it sounded absolutely enchanting.
The coastal region of
Karnataka abounds in rich culture and art and like everyone, I too was attracted by this factor. Choreographers Madan-Harini recommended my name to the makers and here I am making an entry into a new language,” exclaims the actor.
Of course, with cinematic liberty and some local elements incorporated into her look, the song is being shot in a traditional Kambala setting. “It features me cooking fish curry and spreading cheer and describing the joys of our community,” she tells us. Titled Birdudha Kambala in Tulu, the bi-lingual film stars veteran Tulu artistes along with Sandalwood actors.
