Legal hurdles bring Abhinetri to a halt

Pooja Gandhi’s maiden production Abhinetri, which was in its final lap before release, is facing a big hurdle. With writer Bhagya Krishnamurthy alleging that the film is based on her book Abhinetriya Antaranga, a lower court has ordered a stay on the film. Now, with the matter in the High Court, we heard that there was an argument on Monday to get this order lifted.Considering the film hasn't got a first cut out yet, no one apart from the team has seen the rushes, is what the makers of Abhinetri are contesting. While the arguments were inconclusive, the next hearing of this case is on the following Monday. The film’s producer and lead actress Pooja remained unavailable for comments at the time of going to press.
