The recent
Sandalwood release
Mynaa, directed by Nagashekhar, witnessed a grand opening at the box-office. The movie, starring
Chetan Kumar and
Nithya Menen has received compliments from critics and audience alike. The film, which was released in about 110 screens, though opened to a decent response on the release day, tasted better success at the multiplexes. However, it's the evening shows across screens that helped
Mynaa gain larger audience.
The director, who has roped in actors from across film industries in order to break stereotypes is very happy with the Tamil film actor
Sarath Kumar's performance. "I signed actors from different film industries also because I felt they suited the role very well," said Nagashekhar. Though youngsters and families are seen flocking to theaters to catch the romantic flick,
Mynaa is yet to appeal to the mass audience. But, despite the diverse audiences the film has witnessed, it has provided tough competition for other Kannada films such as
Charminar.
