Prem has publicly taken on producer Kanakapura Srinivas, following offensive remarks made by the latter against him and other members of the Kannada Film Industry at a recent public film event. Speaking at a press meet, Prem announced that he has filed a formal complaint with the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) and submitted to the KFCC president Jayamala. Puneeth Rajkumar, and actors Darshan Thu gudeepa and Dhruva Sarja, alleging profes sional misconduct and financial losses. He also claimed credit for making Puneeth a hero and accused the late actor of cheating him, while questioning Prem’s professional integrity. Prem called it disrespectful to speak ill of late Puneeth after his passing, saying such words should have been said when he was alive. He also criticised Srinivas for targeting Darshan during a difficult legal phase, calling the remarks uncivilised.
