Shashank took to Twitter earlier today to reveal that Rachana Inder, who shot to fame for her role in 'Love Mocktail', will play the female lead.
Speaking about how she came on board, Rachana says: "I was first approached by Raghavendra sir a few months ago(film's producer) about the role while I was shooting for something else. Things hadn't materialized yet at that point and after further deliberation, I was asked to meet Shashank sir at his office and audition for the role - I went through the look test too and was confirmed right away. It was as simple as that.".
Rachana is particularly excited about playing the part and is looking forward to getting under the skin of her character. She adds that although the story is in the romance-drama space, there is still so much scope to perform and excel here because of certain novel elements. "I don't think I have had the opportunity so far to play a character such as this. It's a very unconventional character, mainly, and I am sure it will take a lot of preparation on my part to be up for it. Right now, I am trying to get as many references as possible and am in touch with Shashank sir to understand how we can approach this. For this reason alone, he has decided on holding a few rehearsal sessions in August before we formally go on floors next month. We will be shooting all the way through September, October, and November and hopefully wrap it up around then," adds a very jubilant Rachana Inder.
Quite apparently, director Shashank is very keen on keeping things fresh and youthful this time around and has specifically chosen to work with the younger lot to render his new-age love story. "She is going to make you laugh, cry, and fly," wrote the 'Moggina Manasu' director in his tweet earlier today to introduce his female lead, and owing to his penchant to extracting great performances out of newbies, one can expect this film to be a special treat.
