RGV had to make changes to the script, says Lakshmi
At the recent Ambareesh Sambhrama in Bangalore, Telugu actor-producer Lakshmi Manchu had a jolly good time in the midst of south film industry biggies like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Rajinikanth and all of Sandalwood. Accompanying her dad Mohan Babu, who is a close pal of the Rebel Star, the actor took time out to speak to TOI about her trip to the city, Sandalwood, her work, and more.
Ambi uncle is very close to our family and I just had to be there for the event on Tuesday.

The show was flawless and one of the best organized events I have ever attended. It was amazing to see the entire Sandalwood fraternity dancing for one actor. I doubt if people back home in Hyderabad would do that for anyone, says Lakshmi.
As for her films, Lakshmi says that she has completed two schedules of her Tamil film with director Mani Ratnam. Is she playing a baddie in the film? Not at all! The only film I played a baddie in was in my debut vehicle Anaganaga O Dheerudu. I am also shooting for Maranthen Mannithen with Aadhi and Taapsee, she says.
With three Tamil films in hand, is her focus shifting to Kollywood? No. In fact, I am waiting for offers from the Kannada film industry. I would love to work with Puneet Rajkumar.
Her last Bollywood release Department didnt really set the cash registers ringing at the BO. A lot of changes were included in the script after the first narration. Its unfortunate that director Ram Gopal Varma had to compromise on the script.
