road accident involving a bus carrying junior artists.
As per a News 18 report, a bus carrying 20 junior artists met with a major road accident after the driver lost control of the vehicle. The incident occurred near Jadkal, close to Kollur in Karnataka, as the crew was returning from a shoot in Mudoor. Reports indicate that the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to it overturning and injuring six of the twenty passengers on board. These individuals were promptly rushed to Jadkaal Mahalakshmi Clinic for medical attention, and their condition is currently a concern for the production team.
As a result of this unfortunate event, the filming schedule for 'Kantara: Chapter 1' has been disrupted, affecting ongoing work at various coastal locations. The production team is awaiting updates on the health of the injured artists.
A few days ago, the makers announced that 'Kantara: Chapter 1' is set for a worldwide release on October 2, 2025, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti. The film will be available in multiple languages, including Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam. While it is described as a prequel to the successful 'Kantara', specific plot details have been kept under wraps.
'Kantara' released in 2022, became a massive hit, grossing over Rs 400 crores worldwide made on a modest budget of Rs 16 crore and earned Shetty a National Award for his performance. Rishab Shetty acted and directed the film.
