There's more to
Samyukta Hornad than just being an actress. The pretty lady, who says she is 'a super-emotional person', has quite an artistic streak. Whatever emotion she feels, she expresses via a pen on a paper through doodling, and it is this work ' some personal, some done for friends ' that will be displayed at a new caf' in JP Nagar by the end of the month.
'I'm a super-emotional person and I doodle every day.
My doodles are really complicated; they are thoughts that get bigger. When I am really happy, I draw animals, but when I have a problem, I start thinking of human beings. When I draw animals, I use a lot of colours, but when I draw human beings, it's mostly black and white, and really dark. There's no one way that I do it; I just go with how I feel and the colours and patterns are based on that,' says Samyukta.
Speaking about one of her artworks (in picture above), the actress says, 'The horse basically reflects a person's inner conflict, which is shown through a battle between the black and white horse. I don't know which horse is right and which is wrong, but one empowers the other.' Samyukta adds that this artwork is a reflection of someone else's emotions.
So, given her busy schedule, when does she get the time to doodle? 'I do it all the time. When I am talking to someone over the phone, or am confused or upset, or even while shooting ' I just take a pen and paper and start off. People assume that I'm not concentrating, but doodling actually helps me concentrate and improves my memory. It's a great outlet as I get to express my emotions. So, if I am upset with someone, I no longer am after I doodle,' she says, adding that it started off as a hobby, but she doesn't know what she would do without it now.
