After the untimely demise of late National Award winning actor Sanchari Vijay, the first posthumous release would be
Lanke. The commercial drama sees him play a pivotal role that director Ram Prasad shares, had Vijay excited.
"Vijay's character is based on a real life character, as the film is inspired by a real incident. His character is pivotal to the story and is the catalyst for the entire narrative to move forward.
He was very excited about this particular role," shares the filmmaker.
The director adds that Vijay had done a lot of research to get into this role, like he would for every role of his. "Vijay hailed from Chikkamagalur, but this character comes from the hale Mysuru area. The body language, way of speaking and slang are all different. This is unlike any of the films he had done before and he did a lot of homework to perfect the slang. He used to send all his preparations through
WhatsApp to me and ask for ways to improve. He was glad that he got to experiment with yet another different character in his career, through
Lanke," he shares.
The director says that it has been his privilege to have worked with Vijay in this film and he got a glimpse into the dedication of the actor that other filmmakers have spoken about. "This character will definitely leave a mark in the hearts of fans and we are eager to see how people will receive the same," he adds.
