Shankar Mahadevan teams up with Hema Malini

Shankar Mahadevan and Hema Malini make an odd pair, but the singer/composer and actress/dancer will be teaming up together for a devotional album. This was revealed by the Dream Girl’s recent tweet.
Hema’s tweet, which she posted on October 5, read, “I will be shortly releasing a music cd Saundarya Lahri, where I have chanted the sacred verses along with eminent singers like Suresh Wadkar, Shankar Mahadevan and Ashit Desai.The introduction of Saundarya Lahari is by Shri Amitabh Bachchan. Looking forward to everyone’s support.”
Shankar, who has sung for the Kannada film Parari, which was directed by KM Chaitanya, entered the film world as a singer. He earned his first award as a playback singer for the Tamil movie Kandukondain Kandukondain, in which he collaborated with music composer AR Rahman. He was pushed into the big league after the release of his first music album Breathless, in 1998. He later became a music director after becoming a part of the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio.
