Exotic locations are a must for most films — at least for a song sequence. And Kannada filmmakers are not far behind when it comes to exploring scenic locations and capturing their breathtaking beauty on camera. The team of the upcoming Shravani Subramanya, for instance, has captured four seasons in one song. While people might assume that the song was shot over a period of time, director
Manju Swaraj says that he shot it in just three days.
Ask him how, and he says, “We shot the song in Krabi Islands, near Bangkok. Though people often say that Bangkok is about hot summers, the time we shot there was a good period. We were able to capture four different seasons for the song, Ninna Nodu Kannugalu sung by
Sonu Nigam,” he says.
We shot the song over three days, capturing sunny, rainy, windy and cold climates for the same song. The look for our lead pair —Ganesh and
Amulya — has been done rather stylishly for the song. This is definitely going to be one of the talking points of the film and a visual treat for audiences.” The scenic location also made the team shoot another song in one of the islands in Bangkok. “The water around the island changes colour throughout the day. We managed to capture green, red and blue hues of water in the song,” says Manju.
