Sindhu Loknath makes inroads into Tulu cinema
Onas aanda is a phrase that she often uses with her Tulu-speaking friends. But Lifeu Ishtenegirl Sindhu Loknath will soon be spouting more than just one line when she embarks on her maiden venture in the Tulu film industry. Titled Amber Caterers, the film will be helmed by debutante director Vijay Prasad and will be going on the floors in late October.
To be entirely shot in Kudla, the flick is a rom-com, a genre that Sindhu confesses to be a personal favourite.

'Lifeu Ishtene, Drama and Love In Mandyawere all comic capers with endearing love stories, so I'm happy to be continuing my winning streak,' she says. The film will see Sindhu playing a regular college-going lass who is a politician's daughter who falls in love with a simpleton.
So what prompted Sindhu to sign a Tulu film, a language that is alien to her? 'The director was extremely keen on casting me and said he couldn't see anyone else fitting the bill. I was touched my his faith in me and green-lighted the project. As for the language, Tulu sounds a lot like Kodathak (the language spoken in Coorg, where she hails from) so I can easily comprehend the language. I know that by the time I wrap the film, I'll be fluent in the language,' states Sindhu, who has also been closely following the developments in the Tulu industry. 'The past two years have seen many Sandalwood actors making their presence felt in Tulu cinema, so I'm happy to be doing the same,' says the actor who is looking forward to indulging in seafood during her stay in Mangaluru.
