While it was earlier stated by
Sudeep that his upcoming film will have a Ugadi release, it has now been established that the film’s release has been pushed. The film will now hit the theatres on April 25 which is due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Maanikya, an action-thriller, being directed by Sudeep has V Ravichandran, Varalaxmi Sharathkumar, Ramya Krishna and Ranya in the leads roles.
It is touted as one of the most anticipated films of 2014 from the Kannada film industry. Sudeep, who had earlier tweeted Maanikya being an Ugadi release has posted saying that it has been pushed to April.
Maanikya is a remake of the Telugu hit, Mirchi which had
prabhas and
Satyaraj play the roles of father and son. But, in the Kannada remake, Sudeep has made some changes in the script and will have Ravichnadran playing his brother in it. The film is a big budget one.
