Team Yuva explores the beaches, cuisine and vibe of Mangaluru

Team Yuva, the film starring Sapthami Gowda and debutant Yuva Rajkumar, is currently shooting in Mangaluru. While the makers insist on no photographs as the look and feel of the film is strictly to be under wraps, Bangalore Times got to chat with the star cast and director who can’t stop raving about the picturesque locations that they are shooting at. While we wait to get a glimpse of the scenes, here’s what the team is saying:
We love shooting here: beaches and food galore. Yuva (Rajkumar) is closer to me in age, so it’s like going back to college again. We are constantly indulging in great food and there is always banter, I’m thoroughly enjoying myself

The film is a campus caper and what better place to shoot at than Mangaluru, a hub of campuses. The student crowd is cosmopolitan and the beaches provide the perfect background. There are even Telugu and Tamil films being shot here simultaneously, for this reasom. I am originally from Kota, in Kundapur, and am thrilled to be shooting on home turf

Mangaluru might come across as being rather modern on the outside, but there is so much art and culture there. The city adds to the breezy, fun and charming aspect to the part of our film that we are shooting here.

Yuva’s unique connection with Mangaluru
Yuva’s father, actor Raghavendra Rajkumar, was filming Anuraagada Alegalu in Mangaluru in 1993, while his wife Mangala was pregnant with Yuva. The debutant actor’s mother, Mangala tells us, “I had gone to the temple on Someshwara beach while the team was shooting there and today we’re back in the same location as Yuva is, shooting his first film.”
